An international research workshop entitled "Minorities in Colonial Settings: Jews in Venice's Hellenic Territories (1400-1800)" was held at Tel Aviv University. The workshop was organized by Prof. Benjamin Arbel with the joint support of the Center, the Chair for the History and Culture of the Jews of Salonika and Greece, Tel Aviv University's Research Authority, the Israel Academy, the Morris E. Curiel Institute for European Studies, and the Italian Cultural Institute. Scholars from Israel, Italy, Greece, England and the United States participated in the conference.

The Center held an international conference at Tel Aviv University on the topic "Displacement, Migration and Social Integration: A Comparative Approach to Jewish Migrants and Refugees in the Post-War Period (1945-1967)". The conference was organized by Dr. Francoise Ouzan with the support of the Claims Conference, the Centre de Recherche Francais a Jerusalem, and the Kantor Center for the Study of Contemporary European Jewry. Scholars from Israel, France, Poland, England, the United States and the Czech Republic participated in the conference.

The Center held an evening symposium in honor of the publication of Prof. Shlomo Simonsohn's monograph, Between Scylla and Charybdis: The Jews in Sicily. The book was published in English by Brill Publishers, in Hebrew by Magnes Press, and in Italian by Viella Editrice. The evening's speakers were: Prof. Benjamin Arbel, Dr. Nadia Zeldes, Dr. Youval Rotman, and Prof. Shlomo Simonsohn.

The Center held an international conference entitled "History of the Romanian Jews in the Twentieth Century: Myth and Reality". This conference was organized in cooperation with the Romanian Cultural Institute in Tel Aviv and A.M.I.R. (The United Organization of Romanian Jews in Israel). Opening remarks were presented by the Romanian ambassador Edward Iosiper and scholars from Israel, Romania, and the United States took part.
