Welcome

Our lab focuses on the molecular and biochemical aspects of the Wnt signal transduction pathway. This important pathway plays a major role in various cellular processes including homeostasis, proliferation and differentiation. Thus, aberrant activation of the cascade can be extremely harmful and is implicated in many cancer syndromes and especially colorectal cancer.
Our work includes identifying new components that either initiate, activate or inhibit the Wnt signaling pathway. This is performed by screening DNA or siRNA libraries in a cellular setup that mimics signal up/downregulation. The candidates are further analyzed and investigate in regards to their particular function in the Wnt cascade.
Other exciting projects have branched from this main theme including the effect of the Wnt ligands on Red Blood Cells, restoring APC by Read-Through therapy and others.
