Dr. Zahava Barkay received the Ph.D. degree in Physics from Tel-Aviv University at 1994. She joined the Wolfson Applied Materials Center (WAMRC) leading the field of scanning electron microscopy (SEM) in parallel to her post-doctoral research scholarship. At 1998 she established the SPM (scanning probe microscopy) lab at the WAMRC and researched in both the SEM and SPM labs. Since 2001 she was also in charge of the high resolution scanning electron microscope (HRSEM) lab. At 2005 she established the environmental scanning electron microscope (ESEM) lab and since then she is in charge of this lab in addition to the SEM lab. Dr. Barkay is continuously training graduate students for SEM research and guides Master thesis projects. Since 2003 she teaches the graduate SEM course at the Engineering department at Tel-Aviv University.

Larisa Burstein received her first M. Sc. Degree in Radio Communication & Broadcasting in 1975, graduating from the Moscow Telecommunication Institute, Moscow, Russia. From 1975 to 1980 she was holding engineering positions at the Central Communication Design Office of the Ministry of Telecommunication and the Automatic Telephone Network Center, Moscow, Russia.

After repatriating to Israel in 1980, Larisa Burstein studied for her second M. Sc. Degree in Microelectronics, at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, Haifa, Israel.   She was working on her M. Sc. Thesis on MOS devices in mercury-cadmium-telluride in the Kidron Microelectronics Research Center, Technion, under the supervision of Prof. Yael Nemirovsky. She got her second M. Sc. Degree in 1984.

Alexander Gladkikh received his diploma in physics of metals in 1981 and PhD degree in solid state physics in 1986 from the Kharkov Polytechnic Institute, Ukraine. Since 1992 he worked at the Department of Electrical Engineering – Physical Electronics, Tel Aviv University, and in 1999 he joined The Wolfson Applied Materials Research Center. His main research interests are in microstructural changes and interface phenomena in thin films, with emphasis on electron microscopy and ion mass spectroscopy techniques.

I am Italy born Crystallographer now in Israel. I graduated in chemistry at University of Milano (1994) and I obtained the Ph.D. title in Mineralogy and Crystallography at University of Modeana e Reggio Emilia (1998). I worked at ESRF synchrotron (1998-200) and I was senior resercher at the University of Torino (2000-2013). Since I am in Israel I worked at University of Tel Aviv and at Technion in Haifa.

I have a huge experience in X-ray and Neutron Powder Diffraction Crystallography at high pressure and in high temperature condition and a good experience in the quantitative and qualitative analysis of powder by means x-ray diffraction.
