The group of Dr. Fleischer studies the interaction of gas and liquid phase molecules with intense single-cycle terahertz fields (THz). We utilize THz fields to induce orientation of gas phase molecular ensembles and study their rotational responses, with the aim of achieving control over the angular distribution of gas phase molecules.
We also study the ultrafast dynamics of laser induced air plasmas on the picosecond time scales using both near-IR and THz fields. The group is part of the Israeli national research center for electrochemical propulsion (INREP) and develops THz spectroscopic techniques for in-operando electronic characterization of batteries.
