Molecular Mechanisms of Neurodegeneration

We are a NEW multi-disciplinary molecular and cellular neurobiology lab.

We are looking for enthusiastic and highly motivated:

1. MD/Ph.D students

2. Ph.D students

3. M.Sc students

4. Hourly part-time students

We will use state-of-the -art single molecule live imaging techniques on neuronal cultures as well as biochemistry, cell biology and biophysics approaches on mouse model system to study axonal transport and neurodegnerative diseases, with initial focus on ALS.

Research Projects will include:

  • Axonal transport regulation
  • Comunication between the neuron and its environments
  • Retrograde signaling
  • Synapse stability and maintenance
  • Axonal transport of RNA in health and disease
  • Receptors spatial targeting and membrane dynamics
  • Cellular mechanisms of virus and prion trafficking
  • Microfluidic system, single molecule and nanotechnology
